Delete account

How to delete your Chapterkeep account (developer: Steven Kelm) with all data. You can do it in the app or request it by email, without installing the app.

In the app (right away)

Open Chapterkeep and go to Settings → Profile.
Tap Delete Account and confirm.
If you sign in with Apple, confirm the deletion with Apple once more.

Your account and all data are deleted right away on our servers and on your device. We also revoke a sign-in with Apple automatically.

By email (without the app)

Send an email to contact@chapterkeep.de with the subject "Delete account". Send it from the email address of your account, i.e. the address you sign in with by email link, Google or Apple, so we can match the account to you.

We delete your account without undue delay, within one month at the latest, and confirm the deletion by email. To remove the data on your device, uninstall the app.

Signed in with Apple and "Hide My Email"?

Then we only know an anonymous relay address from Apple. The easiest way is to delete your account in the app. By email, please tell us the relay address: on the iPhone you find it under Settings → [your name] → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple → Chapterkeep. There you can also stop using Sign in with Apple for Chapterkeep yourself, because we can't revoke it for you when the account is deleted by email.

Premium subscription

A running Chapterkeep Premium subscription doesn't end with the account. Cancel it in the App Store or on Google Play as well, otherwise it keeps renewing.

Guest accounts

A guest account has no email address, so we can't match it by email. Delete it in the app.

What is deleted

your account with email address and sign-in data
your library: books, shelves, reading status, ratings
your chapter notes, quotes, lexicon entries and their relations
your flash cards and reading sessions
your feedback from the app
your customer data at our purchase service RevenueCat (your purchases at Apple or Google stay there)

What is not deleted right away

your email with the deletion request, until the deletion is done
data we have to keep because of statutory retention obligations
